AhlulBayt News Agency - Last night in the northern Aleppo countryside, the Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division – backed by the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary group) – launched another assault on the Handarat Refugee Camp, targeting the eastern neighborhoods of this imperative site controlled by the extremist rebels.
On the same morning the Syrian Armed Forces launched an assault to capture the Handarat factories; once this area was secured, they began to target the eastern neighborhoods of Handarat Camp.
The extremist rebels from Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) were able to fend-off the first assault by the Syrian Armed Forces at the eastern neighborhoods; however, they find themselves under attack once again.
The Syrian Army’s offensive at Handarat Camp has lifted a lot of pressure off of the Sheikh Maqsoud District of Aleppo City because it has forced the extremist rebels to concentrate their forces to northern Aleppo.
Handarat Camp is strategically located just north of the Castillo Roundabout that is used by the extremist rebels to transport supplies to their fighters inside the provincial capital of the Aleppo Governorate.
